MEGA Body: Large as Life

MEGA BodyThe Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum presents the MEGA Body interactive exhibit sponsored by Renown Children’s Hospital. Adults and kids will receive a close-up view of the fascinating systems making up the human body.

Bring the kids to this family-friendly event over Labor Day Weekend.

Hours are:

Friday, Aug. 31, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Saturday, Sept. 1, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday, Sept. 2, 12 noon to 5 p.m.

Bigger isn’t always better, but when it comes to learning about your body it actually is. This enormous 50-foot-long exhibit will allow everyone who enters its 13-foot-high mouth to experience what goes on beneath their skin every day. For example, did you know ounce for ounce human bones are stronger than steel (and four times stronger than concrete) or the pineal gland is the smallest organ? Walking through this exhibit will allow you to view otherwise hidden body parts and also gain an understanding of how they function, why they fail and how to keep them healthy.

The goal of the MEGA Body exhibit is to encourage wellness so common diseases, such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes, can be prevented in children, teens and adults.

Museum members can attend this exhibit for free, the cost is $12 per adult and $10 for ages 1 to 17 for non-members.
