The holidays can be such a fun and sentimental time of year, but it always makes me think back to those holidays when Christmas shopping was a struggle. I was a single mom, working and going to school with little kids, and I did my best to stretch a $40 budget as much as I could. I know how hard it can be and I want parents to enjoy the spirit of love that should surround Christmas without the stress of worrying that kids will wake up to an empty tree on Christmas morning.
Flash forward to the present, I am able to provide whatever is on my kids’ Christmas list, and budgeting for it isn’t stressful anymore. I am so thankful that my employer, Dolan Auto Group, is hosting its 6th annual Camp Christmas, where we partner with Reno Media Group to donate toys to Toys for Tots for kids in need throughout our community. Each year, thousands of children in our area would go without if it weren’t for Toys for Tots.
All of the employees at Dolan and the Dolan family feel very blessed to have jobs that allow us to not just pay our bills but also provide nice things for our families, and we realize that a lot of families out there don’t have that. The Dolans always make sure that we have a turkey on our table at Thanksgiving and some money for dinner and gifts at Christmas, no matter what the employee’s job is within the organization.
We like to pass along that spirit of giving. If you’d like to join in the spirit of giving to local children in need, please visit any of the Dolan Auto Group dealerships by December 10 with your unwrapped toys!
I was taught that the best way to raise kids is with a “village” to support you, and Dolan is a great addition to my family’s village. The 450 local employees always band together to help out anyone in need, and the Dolans go above and beyond to help. From the fun stuff like baby showers, to the hard times like supporting employees whose kids are in the hospital, the village is always there.
